Rio Ferdinand names drunk Man Utd icon who got ‘carrie out of Christmas party’

Man Utd icon Wes Brown was once so drunk at a. Christmas party that he angere Roy Keane and was ‘carrie out’.

Brown made 362 appearances for the Red Devils from 1996 to 2011, having first arrived at Old Trafford in 1992 after joining United’s academy.

During Brown’s time at the club, United won seven Premier League titles, two Champions League trophies, two FA Cups and two League Cups.

But there was one moment Brown will probably want to forget – and it came at one of United’s Christmas parties in the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

‘Wes Brown got carrie out at midnight, or just https://ufabet999.app before midnight,’ Ferdinand explained on his podcast. ‘We were doing all day at a Christmas do and he got carrie out. I’ll never forget [it].

‘Wes was a funny drinker. I remember Roy Keane stopped drinking and we were out somewhere in Manchester and Wes kept trying to feed Roy a drink.

‘You know Roy, he was like ‘one more and I am going to put that over your head in a minute’, that type of thing.

Wes had to get told to move out the way. That’s the problem with footballers and alcohol, it always goes wrong.’

Fellow former United star Owen Hargreaves added: ‘Most of the guys can’t really drink because you have a game every three days.

No disrespect, but if you play one game a week in the Premier League, you have two or three days when you can go mad.

Meanwhile, former United striker Daniel Nardiello has revealed Ferguson once threatened to sack him after downing a ‘Wes Brown special’ in a nightclub.

‘It was a triple gin, a triple whiskey and a triple vodka,’ Nardiello said on the Under The Cosh podcast.

‘Monday morning comes along and we’re in the office with Fergie and Neil Bailey and stuff. He (Fergie) said, ‘If you ever go out again in Manchester, you’ll be sacked from the club, you’ll leave the club’.’
