West Ham informs Ajax that ‘Alvarez’ replaces ‘Rice’

West Ham United have contacted Ajax to express their interest in Edson Alvarez as a replacement for Declan Rice who is leaving the club.

They have not made an offer but it is expected to be done soon.

Alvarez moved to Europe with Ajax in 2019, and last season he made 44 appearances in all competitions for the club and is contracted until 2025. He has played mostly in defensive midfield, but Alvarez has also dropped into centre-back as well
